Declare MSMEs to look for central intervention to end the power crisis

Ranchi: Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Jharkhand on Sunday said they would look for central intervention to ensure an unrestricted power supply by Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) in the command of the state.
The Jharkhand Small Industry Association (JSIA), The Organization Umbrella Unit MSMEs in the State, said they would write to the Minister of Power Union RK Singh and seeking central intervention in ironing the difference between DVC and the state government of Jharkhand Jharkhand Bijli Vitran Nigam Limited ( JBVNL).
JSIA has expressed concern over the lack of power in the field of DVC command, such as districts such as Hazaribag, Koderma, Chatra, Giridih and Ramgarh, which is home to several MSME production units.
“The Jharkhand and DVC governments have been successive in non-payment of JBVNL contributions and industrial units of suffering due to power outages, which extend to 12-14 hours every day.
Many rural industry units are on the threshold.
Why should the industry suffer?” A JSIA official said, added, “The government must sort out the problem with DVC but it has not happened.” In addition to power outages, the State MSME unit is also exposed to a commercial electricity tariff increase by JBVNL, which now stands at Rs 6 per unit.
In addition, even though the power supply is uncertain, the unit is forced to pay electricity stands every month, which number is approximately 25% of their bills.
“The government can provide financial assistance units by freeing allegations to stand.
If they can give things to farmers for free, why can’t they do that with MSMEs?” President of Jsia Philip Mathew said.
Two weeks ago, the state government had urged DVC to stop cutting its strength for a while because of the Covid-19 situation, but it was all in vain.
