Chennai: Media Coordinator AIDMK RM Babu Murugel has urged the Tamil Nadu State Election Commission to declare the results of local rural polls held for various posts in nine districts and when calculations conclude for each post and not at the time of the vote count for all posts concluded.
In a memorandum aimed at the Superior Commissioner Tamil Nadu on Thursday, Murugavel said the party knew that the Commission had proposed to state the results only at the end of the vote count for all seats.
He argued that in the past, the results of the vote count at each post would be declared as and when the calculation concluded.
He said the results at the same time after the vote count surveyed in all seats would open the way for “some malpractice and horse trade” in the election results and will also lead to “some unwanted incidents in nine districts.” He urged the Commission to direct all the officials who returned, counting officers and district collectors – Cum-district election officers in nine districts to declare the results such as and when calculations concluded for each difference.
He said holding back the results until the completion of the entire calculation process for all seats would allow unmondretic and autocratic forces to influence the results.
