Decoding new OMR sheets
Each paper in the term test 1 will have a maximum of 60 questions.
Students must mark their answers on the OMR sheet only with a pen.
Accessed exclusively by TOI, Customized OMR sheets have additional “boxes” next to each answer so candidates do not need to worry if they want to change their answers.
“Candidates can use the box to mention which they feel is the correct answer if they think it’s different from the response recorded in the oval space (‘A’, ‘B’ or ‘D’ or ‘D’),” Dr.
Sanyam Bhardwajed Examination controller, CBSE.
“If a candidate uses a box, only a response will be taken into account during the evaluation,” he said.
The answer sheet also has an additional column under the # symbol, which will be filled by candidates at the end of the exam to show the questions that have been passed.
“If the question paper has 50 questions and a candidate jump over one of them, the appropriate oval in this column must be filled,” Bhardwaj said.
Evaluation of the same day
Starting this year, CBSE will evaluate the answer sheet on the exam day at the center itself before being uploaded or sent to the regional office.
The answer sheet will be mapped in the middle, the recorded score and sheets will then be sent to their respective regional offices.
CBSE will also share videos on new answer sheets and evaluation processes for candidates and teachers.
