KOLKATA: The Trinamool Congress on Wednesday Voiced displeasure in the BJP-led central Authorities for”hurriedly” renominating former journalist Swapan Dasgupta into the Top House of Parliament.
Dasgupta had resigned in Rajya Sabha and unsuccessfully contested the new West Bengal assembly elections to a BJP ticket.
President Ram Nath Kovind renominated Dasgupta into the Rajya Sabha to match the chair that has fallen vacant as a result of his resignation because of his reminder duration till April 24 second year, based on a house ministry telling on Tuesday.
While Dasgupta obtained renominated into the Rajya Sabha, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla didn’t reply to the pleas of the Trinamool Congress to disqualify membership of celebration MPs Sunil Mondal and Sisir Adhikari who’ve changed to the BJP but didn’t resign, TMC spokesperson Kunal Ghosh explained.
The President nominates famed personalities into the Upper House to the Recommendations of the authorities.

“Swapan Dasgupta was nominated as a Rajya Sabha MP.
He cried after being fielded since the BJP candidate in Tarakeshwar assembly chair when our Lok Sabha MP Mahua Moitra flagged the problem within a tweet.
“But after he had been defeated at the assembly polls, then he’s again nominated into the Upper House of Parliament at a tearing rush during the Covid period.
This,” Ghosh said.
But, Mondal and Adhikari aren’t being disqualified as members of the Lok Sabha, ” he explained.
Both TMC MPs joined the BJP in Union home minister Amit Shah’s rallies in various times before the meeting election.
TMC pioneer in the Lok Sabha Sudip Bandyopadhyay has written to the Speaker double, in January and May, trying their disqualification but have no reply, Ghosh maintained.
“When the delay in the reply could be credited to Covid-19 position in the nation, we wonder Dasgupta’s renomination following defeat in polls could be fast-tracked,” he explained.
The BJP-led authorities is utilizing offices to further its”narrow partisan” aims while turning a deaf ear to the voice of their resistance, the TMC chief promised.
