New Delhi: Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday wrote to the ministers of West Bengal and Tamil Nadu over the exclusion of the Tableaux celebration for the Republic of America.
In a letter, the defense minister wrote, Tableaux Tamil Nadu could not make it a top 12 tableaux list chosen to participate in the Republican Day Parade.
“It’s also to bring your good info that over the past few years, Tableaux from the Tamil Nadu government has been chosen to participate in R-Day for 2017, 2019.2020, & 2021,” he added.
A total of 56 proposals came from the country and the central ministry.
Of these, 21 selected and similar selection process is adopted every year, the sources say and add that Tableaux of these countries has been approved several times in the past under the MOD government.

The government rejected the allegations that Tableaux exclusion from several countries was related to ‘political bias’ and regretted efforts by several CMS to link decisions taken by the committee ‘apolitical experts’ to regional pride.
