NAGPUR: The Nagpur Municipal Corporation’s (NMC) general body meeting on Tuesday unanimously passed a resolution to ask Maharashtra government to reevaluate all of local body elections provided that the Other Backward Classes (OBC) reservation isn’t revived by the Supreme Court.
All political parties at the NMC’s 156 manhood overall body meeting encouraged the note by ruling party leader and senior BJP leader Avinash Thakre.
With no delay and discussion, corporators from judgment BJP, Congress, Bahujan Samaj Party, Shiv Sena, Nationalist Congress Party endorsed the proposal, that directed mayor Dayashankar Tiwari to pass on a settlement.
The resolution was passed on to assure Republicans in the Maratha community before NMC elections early next year.
