Delamya in order not to play for Lancashire this summer: IYER

Lancashire (UK): India Batsman Shreyas Iyer has been ruled out from the Royal London London campaign in Lancashire, the club announced on Monday.
“Here’s a discussion between the club and BCCI, and representatives of players, agreed that Iyer will remain in India ahead of the return to Cricket in time,” Lancashire said in a statement.
Iyer suffered a shoulder injury during the ODI series against England and after that he had surgery.
As a result of this, he was also ruled out from the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 which since being suspended with his eyes in the Covid-19 situation and will now be finished in the UAE.
Iyer has been on the road to recovery after shoulder surgery and named in the list of 45 Cricketers announced by Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) for the fitness camp ahead of the domestic season.
“I was able to be able to play for Lancashire this summer, a club that has a history and ambition like that.
I hope to play at Emirates Old Trafford for Lancashire at some point in the future,” said Iyer.
Director of Cricket, Paul Allott said: “We were clearly disappointed, because we were truly looking forward to welcoming Shreyas to drive Old Trafford.
In the end Long-term fitness Shreyas was very important and Lancashire Cricket fully respected the decision.” We hope that Shreyas is all the best with the rest of the recovery, and from the conversation I have with players, believe that this is a setting he will be interested back in the future.
“Batsman right hand said he would most likely be available for the capital Delhi when the IPL 2021 season continued in the UAE in September.
Half the rest of the 14th edition of the IPL was set to be played in the UAE from September 19 to October 15.
