Kalaburagi: Kalaburagi bench Karnataka High Court on Friday ordered regional commissioners to postpone the election to the Mayor of Kalaburagi City Corporation (KCC), which was scheduled for February 5, while asking officials to hold a poll in a month.
In his order, Ice Justice Indresh said, “The election of the mayor must be held, and the reservation matrix that was originally issued for the mayor and the Mayor’s post must be obeyed.
The mayor’s post is provided for a woman from the general category, while the Deputy Mayor must be from the backward class category (OBC) Others.
Regional commissioners must ensure that the old voter list, which does not contain five MLCs included in the new list, is used for the Mayor’s poll.

The state government changed the reservation matrix for the top two posts on the KCC board issued in November.
