Delay Publishes Vax Certificates Hits Jobs, Travel Plans Spoils

Coimbatore: The delay in the issuance of Covid-19 vaccination certificates has hit residents loudly.
Many people are forced to delay their travel plans and not in a position to take a job offer, because they do not have a certificate, which has been made mandatory to travel abroad and several states in this country.
Youngters said several employers had made vaccinations mandatory to take part in the interview and offered an appointment order.
Delay in getting a certificate, they said, delayed them to take a job.
In some cases, they also lost work opportunities because of this.Varghese Thomas, a young man from the city, said while five of them had taken the first dose of vaccines about 40 days ago, only one received a vaccination certificate so far.
“When we apply for a job, prospective employers ask us about vaccination.
They want us to produce a certificate.” S Baburaj, a resident of Chinna Thagam, said he had taken the first dose on July 26, but had not received a certificate to date.
Recently, he was stopped by the health official team near Ukkadam, asked him to undergo Covid-19 testing if not vaccinated.
“I have trouble convincing officials.” Dhiraj lunawat, another resident who received his first dose on May 27, has the same story to tell.
While seven family members are inoculated on the same day, two of them, who have registered in the Cowin application, have not received an SMS containing a link to the certificate.
The rest, which registered in place, has received a message.
“This is a mistake of health workers, who did not get the user code from the beneficiaries to enter the system.
After running from the pillar to the post, I finally managed to get a token from the doctor at the vaccination center for the second dose,” Dhiraj, who hasn’t received a certificate, say.
When contacted, a health official said the delay could be due to higher data volume to be included in the system.
