New Delhi: Google received 27,762 complaints from individuals in India between April 1 and April 30 and deleted 59,350 pieces of content from the platform based on this complaint.
Data also includes court orders.
This information is part of the special transparency technology of Indian Giants technology released on Wednesday and in accordance with new IT rules in the country.
Most complaints received are related to copyright issues (96%), followed by trademarks (1.3%), defamation (1%), legal (1%), false (0.4%).
This report is published to comply with the rules of IT India, 2021, which mandates a significant social media platform with more than 50 lakh users to publish compliance reports every month with the details of the complaints received and taken.
“We have a long history in providing transparency to various types of requests we receive from all over the world, and how we respond.
All of these requests are tracked and included in our existing transparency reports since 2010.
This is the first time we will publish monthly transparency reports accordingly With new IT rules, and will continue to publish more details because we enhance our reporting process for India, “Google spokesman said.
The report also said there would be a two-month pause between reporting and publishing this data because information processing requires time.
