Delhi: 109 fresh Covid cases, positivity rate dips to 0.14%

NEW DELHI: The capital on Thursday recorded eight deaths and 109 fresh cases of novel coronavirus as the city’s positivity rate dipped to 0.14%.
The fresh fatalities have pushed the death toll due to the disease in Delhi to 24,948.
A total of 77,382 Covid-19 tests — 54,581 RT-PCR and 22,801 via rapid antigen testing — were conducted in the past 24 hours, according to the government’s health bulletin.
Meanwhile, the number of cumulative cases stood at 14,33,475, while active cases was down to 1,767, from 1,797 a day before.
The number of people under home-isolation marginally increased to 523 from 522 on Wednesday, while containment zones drastically dropped to 2,277 from 4,340 a day before.
“However, we cannot get complacent yet because the threat of mutant variants causing more cases in future cannot ruled out,” Dr Arun Gupta, president of the Delhi Medical Council, told TOI recently.
