New Delhi: Three teenagers died after sinking on the Yamuna River, while someone was saved by a local diver, early Sunday.
The deceased was around 15 years old and lived with their family at Brijpuri from Northeast Delhi.
The police have started the inspection process into the incident.
PCR calls made by pedestrians around 5.30 in the morning who told that four children drowned in the river near Sur Ghat at Wazirabad North Delhi.
A police team rushed to the place and found that local divers had saved one of the boys, but the other three were allegedly sought.
An operation was launched to take the bodies and divers, finally fishing three bodies.
They rushed to the hospital but were declared dead on arrival.
The saved boy was identified as Bunty (15).
His brother, someter (16), died.
The other two deceased was identified as a 24-year-old PANKAJ and Sumit, a police officer said by police, the four boys went to take a morning walk at 5 in the morning at the nearest park.
From the park, they plan to go to Sur Ghat to swim on the river.
According to Bunty, some Metro Delhi construction work is taking place near Ghat so the children go ahead and jump into the river.
