New Delhi: National capital reported 34 new cases of dengue last week, took the total number to 158 compared to 131 cases reported to 11 September in 2020.
However, there were no deaths reported because of dengue fever in the city until now.
According to reports prepared by South Delhi Municipal Corporation – Nodal Agency, which sowed data on the disease transmitted through vectors in the national capital, 11 cases of malaria and eight chikungunya cases were recorded last week.
The total number of malaria cases and chikungunya this year has reached 68 and 40, respectively.
Until September 11 last year, 114 cases of malaria and 47 chikungunya were reported.
Cases of diseases transmitted through vectors are usually reported between July and November, but the period can stretch until mid-December.
Civil bodies in Delhi have intensified their steps to prevent the outbreak of diseases transmitted by vectors.
The chairman of the permanent committee from North Corporate Jogi Ram Jain has recently held a meeting with the Public Health Department official about Dengue and Chikungunya prevention.
He has directed officials to conduct conscious campaigns in all fields under the body of the civic so that the maximum citizens can be made aware.
“Checker domestic breeding from three civil bodies has made 1.8 crore visits so far.
They have found more than one lakh house with breeding and issuing legal notices to 88,030 households.
Insecticides have been sprayed more than nine lakh properties,” said a person Citizenship officials.
