New Delhi: Delhi police have confiscated 700 kilograms of firecrackers and arrested around 10 people from various parts of the city this week so far.
In the area of Bazar aware of North Delhi, seven people were arrested with 80kg crackers.
In another incident, Pawan Kumar, a resident of Tri Nagar, was arrested from the West Delhi Mundka area with a 4 kg desert.
Parvinder Singh, DCP (Outer), said: “On Monday, a police team saw a man towards Nangloi on a scooter with a plastic bag.
The team checked the bag where crackers were found.
Kumar revealed that he was running a sugar shop near his house.
He has bought a firecracker from Bahadurgarh in Haryana and wants to sell it in his shop in Diwali.
“In the Sultanpuri area, a 32-year-old woman was arrested for selling firecrackers.
The defendant was identified as Rani and a total of 25.5 kg of firecrackers recovered from ownership.
In the Budh Vihar area, Asha was 40 years old arrested for selling firecrackers from his home.
