Delhi: Ashram Underpass missed the fourth deadline

New Delhi: Under-construction Ashram underpass in Delhi has missed its fourth deadline and will not be ready before the end of November.
The work must be resolved by the revised deadline on September 30 but the government now said that the project settlement would take two more months because the high voltage power channel was detected during construction.
The cable shape will be carried out by Delhi Transco Limited in a month.
The rest of the work will take another month, after the cable is shifted.
Toi recently reported that underground electrical cable posed the last obstacle to the completion of the Ashram underpass.
The Ministry of Public Works Department Satyendar Jain said construction work had been hampered due to shifting power cables on underpass and ensured that the problems faced in underpass work near the initial ashram would be repaired.
The minister said the ramp work will be resolved by removing this cable in one month.
“This underpass work near Ashram is almost complete.
However, underpass development has faced several obstacles.
This is caused by a heavy power cable shift near the lower road.
This ramp is 16 meters long.
This power cable is being shifted that will take about a month To be completed.
After that, in one month, the road building work will also be completed.
The whole process will be completed within two months, “Jain said.
The minister said that the government was aware of the fact that several holes had been created near the Ashram Chowk.
“All of these holes have been repaired and within a few days, the work of the emergence of roads will be done,” Jain said.
Ashram Chowk is an important link that connects Central and South Delhi with Noida and Faridabad.
Underpass will make Chowk.
, one of the busiest in the capital, signal free and free congestion.
The intersection connects Mathura Road and Ring Road with Lajpat Nagar-Sarai Kale Khan and DND Flyway.
Stone Foundation for Underpass 750 meters is placed by the minister’s chairman.
Arvind Kejriwal on December 24, 2019 and is expected to be completed in a year on December 20, 2020.
The second deadline was set for March 2021 and driven to June 2021 due to lack of workers, and locking delayed project solving.
This deadline shifted to September 2021 when it could not be resolved in June.
Now because of the underground electrical cable, the deadline has been extended by two months.
The junction that has been jammed is watching the bus rush hour MS on the road that connects mainly Mathura Road since the construction of underpass begins.
Even in non-peak hours of roads near the intersection watch traffic jams.
According to more than 3 lakh vehicles pass through the chowk ashram every day.
When the underpass is complete and opened a significant percentage of the traffic load will pass the underpass thus the traffic load at the intersection of the surface level will reduce and the overall congestion will decrease.
