New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata’s party on Monday accused the AAM AAM AADMI government “misleading” Delhi people about the problem of Bill Lokpal Jan.
Overcoming a joint press conference, Delhi President BJP Adesh Gupta and MP Delhi northeast Manoj Tiwari said the Delhi assembly had passed the bill more than six years ago, but the AAP government has not taken it to a logical conclusion.
Reacting to allegations, AAP in a statement said that BJP played politics on corruption problems by raising Local problems when their Lieutenant governor rejected the proposal.
“Reply to the RTI application we clarified that Delhi’s assembly passed the bill in December 2015, but the file was sent to the LG office only on September 25, 2019.
It was returned to the Legal Department within two days,” Gupta claims.
He added that when BJP asked about the status of the bill on December 29, 2015, the selected government claimed that it had been sent to LG for his approval.
“Where is the file lying for that four years and why does the AP government lie?” Gupta asked.
BJP MP Manoj Tiwari said that AAP had promised in 2013 to appoint LokPal as soon as it formed the government but there was no development even after eight years.
AAP, however, said that BJP played politics on corruption problems.
“They only played dirty politics by raising Local problems when their own LG rejected the proposal.
BJP is the most corrupt party in Indian independent history.
They are not entitled to talk about corruption,” Aap said in the statement.
The party said that the AAP government had eliminated corruption in 49 days.
But when AAP formed another government in 2015, BJP grabbed ACB (anti-corruption branch).
“Why did the BJP Central Government take ACB from the Delhi government? They didn’t even take a step against corruption.
We challenge them to restore ACB to us and we will show how corruption can be completely eliminated,” said the party.
