New Delhi: The Delhi BJP unit has planned to intensify its protest against new excise policies from the AAP government and form “Sangharsh Committee” to advance agitation, opposition leader Ramvir Singh Bidhuri said on Friday.
The 26-member Committee, which was formed in the direction of Delhi President BJP Adesh Gupta, will lead the protest at the opening of the curvature of new liquor throughout the city in the coming days, he said.
Bidhuri claimed that a new policy where liquor stores opened in the city would be “endangering” women’s safety and sent youth in the wrong direction when he tried to reduce the age of drinking legal minimum from 25 years to 21 years.
The committee met on Friday to discuss its strategy for agitation.
Delhi BJP leaders including Adesh Gupta, South MP Delhi Ramesh Bidhuri, Ashish Sood, Kuljeet Chahal, Rajiv Babbar and Rajan Tewari attended the meeting.
“New excise policies that promote consumption of liquor will not be permitted to be implemented and protests will be held on it in all 70 assembly constituencies in Delhi.
Representatives from various religions, social organizations, population and market welfare associations will be associated with it,” Gupta said.
Under the new excise policy of the Delhi government, there will be 850 jumping liquor in the city divided into 32 zones.
Every city ward will have two-three magnificent liquor stores with walk-in facilities for consumers.
