New Delhi: Delhi BJP has planned a free pilgrimage scheme to various religious places in North India, including Ram Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya, for senior citizens and women ahead of the initial city polls 2022.
The scheme will be launched on September 11 and funded by the BJP Delhi unit .
Party officials tend to accompany senior citizens on the pilgrimage.
Before the Delhi Assembly election, the AAP had launched a similar scheme where thousands of senior citizens were taken on a pilgrimage funded by the government.
Chairman Delhi BJP Adesh Gupta said that the Covid-19 situation has increased significantly and many senior citizens and women, who have avoided pilgrimage and tours as a preventative measure since the Coronavirus outbreak, now want to go a pilgrimage but cannot do it because it reduces family income.
“The purpose of this pilgrimage scheme is to reduce stress among senior citizens and women caused by Covid and further troubles,” Gupta said.
The bus will be used for pilgrimage and Covid norms will be followed during the tour.
Batches from senior citizens and women will be taken to pilgrimage destinations such as Vaishno Devi and other destinations at Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh and other countries in North India.
BJP, who ruled the city corporation for three consecutive terms, has begun to prepare land for polls and want to keep AH AP out of the company in the election of 2022.
Party officials say public notifications with all details about how to send the application will soon be issued.
“People can send applications with members of the Mandal Party or Head of the Mandal,” said Delhi spokesman BJP Praveen Shankar Kapoor.
Gupta said that the Government AAP launched a free pilgrimage scheme in 2019 before the assembly election but left him after winning the assembly.
However, a Delhi government official said that the pilgrimage scheme was very successful and a large number of Delhiit was available and appreciated it.
“Because the code of the behavior model charged for assembly selection, the government stops carrying people to pilgrimage.
Immediately after the election, the Coronavirus pandemic broke,” the official said.
