Kolkata: Delhi’s Air India flights failed to take off from Kolkata on Saturday morning after one of the tires exploded in the taxiway, said an airport official said.
No one suffered an injury due to the incident, he said.
Broken tires emitted a loud voice, after the pilot immediately notified the air traffic controller, the official said.
The plane, carrying 226 passengers, then brought back to the parking bay.
All passengers and members of the cabin crew were made for the plane de-board, after which engineer was attended.
An Indian air official stated that the plane finally took off at around 3:30 a.m.
after all the technical problems were taken care of, at least five hours behind the schedule.
