New Delhi: The CBI stormed a police station in the city and arrested two Delhi police personnel, including women’s sub-inspectors, because they were suspected of demanding and accepting bribes from rape accused of completing them.
The incident was reported from Malviya Nagar.
This is the second attack in Delhi Cops in the last three months.
Previously, the anti-graft body had caught the police posted at the Subhash Place Police Station for accepting bribes.
A month before that, the CBI had arrested three policemen in another bribery case.
Incidentally, a complainant in the latest case is also a police officer.
The CBI has received complaints from the accused of rape by a police woman.
According to sources, a police officer, posted in South Delhi, has filed a complaint of sexual violence on August 3 against the Manoj who was previously posted in the same area.
Something was then registered in the relevant IPC section and the investigation was handed over to the Female Sub Inspector Romi, posted at the Malviya Nagar police station.
During the probe, Manoj filed anticipatory guarantee in the court session in Saket, where he was asked to join the probe and plea guarantee his anxiety was dismissed.
He then moved Delhi High Court where he was asked to join the investigation.
In his complaint to the CBI, the Manoj claimed that the officers of the investigation tried to squeeze money from him to give him clean chit.
After receiving the complaint, the agency placed the trap and asked Manoj to give up on request.
According to the source, the Manoj reached the police station at around 8pm on Saturday and called the woman – the investigating officer of this case – and told him that he had asked for “documents” as requested.
The Women’s Sub Inspector, Romi, was not present at the police station and seemed to ask the Assistant Si, Lekhram, to collect “documents” in his name.
However, both police officers – Lekhram and the Romi – were arrested while receiving a bribe of Rs 50,000 from the Manoj.
