New Delhi: Delhi Court on Monday Scompatiently demanded Sharjeel Imam students for allegedly making inflammatory speeches at the Muslim University of Aligarh and in the Jamia region during protests against the citizenship amendment law (CAA).
Additional Session of Judge Amitabh Prayed to frame the fees below from the Indian Criminal Code (IPC) and Section 13 (penalty for violating activities) of the activity that violates the law (prevention) Act (UPA).
According to the police, Imam made a inflammatory speech in the Jamia region on December 13, 2019 and at the Muslim University of Aligarh on January 16, 2020.
Chargesheet submitted the Imam in the alleged case that he gave a speech that incited hatred, insults, and dissatisfaction of the central government and incited the people, which led to violence in December 2019.
The court also rejected Plea Guarantee Imam in this issue.
AHMED MIR advocate, appearing for the priest, argues that the prosecution of the priest of the alleged inflammatory speech is “the king whip rather than the government established by law”.
He said that the criticism of the priest against the government was not included in the sense of incitement.
He also said that Imam was not a terrorist.
Previously in December last year, the court had provided guarantees to the priest in the alleged violence in Jamia Millia Islamia in December 2019.
