NEW DELHI: After the Head of Minister of Arvind Kelamwals last week to accelerate the disbursement of aid under Mukhyamantri Covid-19 Pariwar Aarthik Sahayata Yojana, most families who had lost a pandemic member had received one-time assistance.
About 89% of these families received EX Gratia Rs 50,000 while the rest will accept it on Wednesday.
Reviewing the scheme again on Friday, Kejriwal praised the officers to work all the time to help grieve families and direct them to also complete the monthly pension disbursement of Rs 2,500 to all beneficiaries in a week and register everyone who qualifies.
He was told that the monthly retirement of 86% of applicants had begun.
On October 1, the minister of chairman was annoyed with the relevant official regarding the delay in processing the application and directed them to withdraw the earliest assistance.
Since then, 14,605 applications for one-time assistance have been verified online and by visiting homes, and 13,005 families each gets each RS 50,000 in their bank account.
Officials said 2,196 families had voluntarily withdrawn since the launch of the scheme in July.
Jobs to provide monthly pensions also occur quickly, but some applicants have not been able to register online, they add.
Kejriwal asked the officials concerned to “do whatever needed, make the process simpler and more accessible”.
The family of people who have died because Covid at home can apply in the portal or make themselves registered when government officials visit them.
As a financial assistance once, RS 50,000 was given to the family of everyone who had died of the novel Coronavirus infection.
Under the monthly pension plan, Rs 2,500 is given to households who have lost their single reserves and for each orphan until they age 25 years.
The Delhi government will take care of orphans whose parents die because of Covid-19, or one of the parents has died before and others now in a pandemic.
