New Delhi: Although there are dyes in the number of new Covid-19 virus cases in the city, the number of detention zones in the city remain above 40,000.
On Thursday night, there were 42,388 closed areas in Delhi.
Ten days ago when the city recorded more than 18,000 daily Covid cases, there were 32,983 active detention areas.
Although there is a decrease in Covid cases, resources say the district administration is not ready to relax and forge ahead with a micro detention strategy.
This means, the red zone in the city tends to remain so for a little longer.
Chesha Yadav, District Magistrate (North-West), said that his government strictly adhere to the ‘two-case policy’, the Delhi government’s strategy from the micro detention zone where there were 2-3 covid patients.
The maximum number of the zone was in the southern district with 13,391, followed by the West with 10,002 and New Delhi with 5,202 detention areas.
Instead, the Eastern District has at least 273 detention zones, while the northeastern district also has around 390 active detention areas.
“The detention zone is made based on cases of case-to-case.
It doesn’t matter if the number of cases is high or low,” said Sonalika Jiwani, DM (South).
“Descaling occurs only after 14 days and it takes 28 days to notify the area contained.
But yes, the number of detention zones will drop in the next seven days.” According to government guidelines, the detention zone remains sealed for 14 days.
If in that period, there are no new Covid cases identified, the scaling process begins and 28 days after the first infection, the zone can be reduced when the last patient runs out or has recovered.
Previously, the Delhi government has asked the central government to reduce the circulation period for the detention zone so that they can be opened again in a shorter period proportionally considering that Omicron isolation is shorter than before.
“Decontainment was carried out according to the guideline.
Published by the Union Health Ministry.
It does not depend on the number of cases,” said Kirtti Gar, DM (West).
Delhi government officials said in a statement on Thursday, “the state government has adopted a direct approach to fight Covid-19 cases.
No matter how the situation is, there are plans to overcome and curb deployment.
CM Arvind Kejriwal itself has monitored every step of the government and remains Strong to protect every citizen in any way possible.
We hope the situation remains under control and continues to improve in the coming days.
Further steps will be taken gradually.
