Delhi: Deshbhakti class to make good citizens children

New Delhi: Open discussion in class with teachers, group class activities, involvement with family, self reflection and community involvement consist of the Deshbhakti curriculum in Delhi government schools.
The curriculum was launched on the independence day on Saturday by the Chairman of the Minister of Arvind Kejriwal.
Following the submission of a Curriculum copy by the State Council for educational research and training, said Kejriwal, “in 70 years, every subject that might be taught at school except Dishbhakti.” This curriculum aims to develop self-confidence, awareness, respect for constitutional values, the mindset of problem solving among students while empowering them to face challenges and bring changes that will benefit the country.
Three Dishbhakti curriculum themes include knowledge, values ​​and behavior.
Students will provide knowledge of constitutional values, plurality and diversity, freedom struggles, achievements and social problems.
They will be taught about values ​​such as honesty, integrity, humility, empathy, love and respect for the state, affection, sacrifice.
They will be influenced behavior to fight injustice and adopt scientific reasoning and the responsibility of citizenship.
Eight learning outcomes are sought to be achieved, namely self-awareness, confidence, problem solving abilities, practicing constitutional, pluralism and diversity values, environmental sustainability, social and social and civil responsibility.
Evaluation will be based on self-assessment, assessment peer and assessment by a teacher.
“The Deshbhakti curriculum will help realize the dream of our freedom fighters and the celebration of independence day will stop being symbolic in schools, instead of holding substantive meaning,” Kejriwal said on Saturday.
“Our government is fully committed to celebrating the spirit of independence every day.” Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia added, “When we started working on the curriculum two years ago, we did not know what form needed and how it would be formulated.

We have learned a lot during the curriculum pilot and will continue Learn more with time.
“Sisodia added that the assessment will be taken care of appropriately.
“While we will remember the anecdotal experience, we must objectively if the patriotic feeling is actually implanted in the minds of our children,” Deputy CM explained.
