New Delhi: The 38-year-old food delivery executive was killed when his motorcycle was hit by a car driven by a police officer in Budh Vihar from Rohini District on Saturday.
The defendant was arrested.
KIN from the deceased claimed that the police were posted with the Buda Vihar police station, drunk when the incident occurred.
PCR got a call at 10pm about events near D Mall.
A police team found that Constables accused of reaching DTC buses and motorbikes.
“The cyclist was taken to the hospital where he was declared dead and the police were arrested,” said an officer.
The deceased, Salil Tripathi, is a native of Uttar Pradesh and lives with his wife, child and mother in Budh Vihar.
A video shot by locals shows one of them says that the driver (police) was drunk.
A senior officer said they were waiting for a medical report to ensure drunk.
Relatives from the deceased, Rahul Tripathi, claiming to be driving negligence caused the incident.
Salil is the only breadwinner from his family.
“He worked as a boy.
Last year, he lost his father to Covid-19.
He was also affected by this disease, but recovered,” he added.
Salil previously worked as a supervisor with a restaurant on the Hudson line, but lost a job due to a pandemic.
He is very depressed, relatively claimed.
Last year, he began working as a men’s shipping Zomato and produced Rs 7,000-8,000 per month.
At the time of the incident, he came out for delivery.
