New Delhi: The lack of alcohol stares at the capital in the face with 260 private liquor stores that are closed forever since Thursday.
Only 600-odd liquor stores will operate until November 16 when licensed stores under new excise policies are open for business.
With the state government itself out of the liquor business, the new excise policy has provided all licenses to the private sector to run 850 alcoholic stores in 32 zones.
Each zone will consist of 8-10 wards and each will have around 27 points of sale of liquor.
The new vends are mandated to be spacious and modern.

Liquor stores will be closed in Delhi starting October 1 for 45 days in accordance with the new Delhi government excise policy.
