New Delhi: Charging Electric Vehicles (EVS) is set to be easier with the Delhi government launched the facilities of one window that aims to make the process of installing personal EV charging points in the commercial location, institutional or housing-free experience.
On Monday, Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot launched the facility, which will be available online and through phone calls.
Gahlot said, about the direction of the Delhi government, the power disc has ventured 12 vendors to facilitate the installation of slow and moderate chargers.
The installation and operationalization of chargers will be completed within seven working days after submitting a request, he added.
“I am happy to share that Delhi is now hosting the cheapest EV charging facility that you can find anywhere in this country.
Apart from 100+ public filling locations that will appear, someone can now install a personal EV charger with a connection fee of Rs 2,500, “Gahlot said.
Delhi Government provides subsidies of 6,000 Rs to 30,000 first applicants for the installation of EV chargers in Delhi.
“We have created an environment that will come upcoming in the future, ensure more EV will run on the streets of the city,” he said, adding that by increasing accessibility to filling infrastructure, all doubts or uncertainty in the minds of people about buying EV will performed with.
“The launch of the current window facility for the installation of personal chargers in malls, offices, housing communities, colleges is happening for the first time in India,” said Jasmine Shah, Deputy Chairperson, Commission Dialogue and Development.
“This marks the completion of training throughout the year initiated by the Delhi Government Filling Infrastructure Working Group,” Shah added.
The tariff level set by the government for electricity consumed through this EV charging point is Rs 4.5 per unit, said Gahlot.
Such facilitative processes to install EV chargers have been developed for the first time in this country, he added.
A consumer can register through one window facility by going to each discom portal or calls 7011931880 or 19123 (BRPL), 19124 (TPDDL) and 011-35999808 (byPL).
Applicants can visit the portal and see EV chargers returned by the government, compare prices and order online or call.
The application can choose to choose a new electrical connection, including a pre-paid meter, to reduce EV rates or can continue with existing connections.
After subsidies to rs 6,000 for EV light chargers, the cost will be reduced to Rs 2,500, which can be paid upfront or through a monthly subscription payment model.
