New Delhi: Baba who proclaimed himself was arrested for allegedly cheating several elderly than Rs 1 Crore with the pretext of getting their beautiful property in Jammu & Kashmir.
According to the police, the defendant, Naresh Kumar, often visited the couple’s house at the festival and function for the ritual.
During a single visit last year, he made them get a bid to buy a piece of main land, citing restrictions on Article 370 and claiming to be immediately for everyone to buy land there, so that it led to a sharp rate hike.
According to DCP (West) Urvija Goel, Kumar was arrested from Jammu by the team led by Sho (Garden Rajouri) Anil Sharma.
The case was registered in October last year with complaints by elderly women, police said.
The complainant alleged that Kumar and his family had developed a friendship relationship with them.
After they were lured on the offer and promise, the defendant was suspected of taking a blank check from the complainant and his family after gaining their confidence and trust.
“The suspect was transferred about 1.25 Crores in various accounts instead of buying property in Jammu & Kashmir on behalf of the complainants and family members,” said DCP.
During the investigation, some raids were carried out throughout the country and land verification was carried out in hostile conditions.
When the defendant had gone underground, the unscrupulous soldier was issued by the court.
Furthermore, the defendant’s family also joined the investigation, but the defendant continued to remain difficult to understand.
Recently, the police received a tip-off of the presence of Kumar at UPPER ROOP Nagar at Jammu, after the team consisting of the RajPal and the others attacked and arrested him.
The defendant was produced in front of the court and was taken from detention to be interrogated.
The police are now investigating if Kumar has delayed others in the same way.
They also tried to recover the cheated money and have appealed to people who do not fall in love with the offer with immoral elements that aim to deceive them from the money obtained with difficulty.
