New Delhi: The call center in Malviya Nagar Southern Delhi was damaged and five people were arrested on Saturday due to deceiving US residents with the pretext of providing technical support using high-tech software, police said.
The defendant was identified as Nikhil Saini, Rahul Sharma, Parth, Rahul and Anant Kamat and five computers and router recovered from their ownership.
DCP (South) Benita Mary Jaiker said they received a tip about the fake call center that ran in the Khirki extension.
“RAID was carried out in the Khirki extension.
Five people were found to deceive US citizens on the grounds of providing technical support using high-tech software,” said DCP Jaiker.
Kasing under the IPC part 419, 420 and 34 from registered at the Malviya Nagar police station.
During the interrogation, the defendant revealed that they imitated as a technical advisor and contacted the US-based people who intended technical support in software.
Police said the defendant used upscale software to make fraud calls.
