ChinMoy Balmal, Public Relations Officer, Delhi Police, said, “Acting on complaints received on the National Cyber ​​Reporting Portal on Sulli’s cellular application, a case registered on Wednesday under the part 354-a (sexual abuse) of Indian criminal code by the unit Cyber ​​crime and investigation have begun.
Notification has also been sent to Github who asked him to share the details relevant to the police.
“On Wednesday, the Delhi female commission also sent a notification to police Delhi and searched for a copy of FIR registered in the application and the details of the actions taken so far.
In the notification, the Commission requested a detailed report from the police in the pictures of Muslim women uploaded and circulated on GitHub along with the extensive use of women.
According to the report, the image of at least 90 women from various fields, including journalists and commercial pilots, uploaded on the site to be auctioned without their knowledge or approval.
The women whose photos were uploaded then faced abuse and some even received threats to deny their involvement in auction.
A day later on Thursday, the National Commission for women took awareness of this problem.
“The Chairman of the Commissioner of Sharma has written to Commissioner Delhi from the police to be investigated about this problem and submitted FIR,” NCW said.
“NCW must be informed of the actions taken within 10 days.
The copy of the letter was sent to DCP, cyber crime.”
