New Delhi: Delhi gets the second Asmog Tower near Anand Vihar Metro Station on Tuesday.
There are extensive concerns over the level of pollution in Delhi.
The Smog Tower is a structure designed as a large-scale air purifier to reduce pollution particles in the surrounding area.
The tower, which was built by Tata Company, has a capacity of 1,000 cubic meters per second.
A grand opening ceremony was held at Indira Parayaavaran Bhawan in the Jorbagh region in the national capital on Tuesday morning.
This tower has been dedicated to the public under ‘National Air Program’.
Previously the Smog Tower was 24 meters high, the structure as the city was first installed in the area of Connaught.
On August 23, Minister of Man Delhi Arvind Kejriwal inaugurated the Smog Tower at Connaught Place.
This tower is able to clean 1000 cubic meters of air within one kilometer radius per second.
Equipped with 40 fans and 5000 air filters, the tower sucks contaminated air and releases filtered air.
