New Delhi: The Government AAP has received more than 33,000 e-mails in response to his call last month for advice on reopening educational institutions from students, parents and teachers.
About 68% of those who sent their views to reopen school while 83% wanted college to be reopened.
Some want schools and colleges to continue the function.
During a series of meetings of parents – teachers were held recently in Delhi government schools, 90% of 8 Lakh parents who attended these meetings said that they wanted to open school again.
In the background of this large feedback from people, DDMA on Friday decided to establish an expert committee, with the Ministry of Education and Health officials as members, to evaluate and resolve detailed plans for reopening schools and other educational institutions.
Panels to develop SOPs, talk to all stakeholders, schools in Delhi have been closed since March 2020 due to the spread of Covid-19.
Among other things, for class IX to XII, schools have been opened to complete practical work / projects.
According to the government, the final decision on the reopening of the school will be taken after the committee submits its report.
The problem of reopening educational institutions was discussed in detail during the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) meeting.
It was chaired by Lieutenant Governor of Anil Baijal and was attended by the Chairman of the Minister of Arvind Kejriwal, Deputy CM Manish Sisodia, Dr.
VK Paul from Niti Aayog, Dr.
Randeep Guleria from AIIMS and Prof.
Balram Bhargava from ICMR, other than others.
Sisodia expressed his concern for how the closure of schools for more than a year had caused the loss of the main learning and emphasized that it was time to reopen the school.
“The Committee will complete a detailed plan and develop standard operating procedures, evaluating school readiness to comply and implement SOPs, teacher vaccinations and school staff, overcome the concerns of parents and involve all stakeholders in this decision,” said a government official.
Some states have opened their school.
While Punjab has opened all schools, Haryana has been opened for class IX students to XII.
Bihar and Himachal Pradesh have been opened for class X and XII students.
Uttarakhand, too, has been opened for several classes and will be opened for the rest on August 16.
Uttar Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh are also in the process of reopening their school.
