Delhi Govt gave a two-month breath on DL update

New Delhi: Do your SIM validity or documents related to vehicles that will end on September 30? Don’t worry, you have at least two more months to get updated documents.
Although there has been no advisor regarding the extension of the validity of documents from the service of Union Road Transport and Highways, the Delhi government has decided to extend their validity until November 30.
“Those who are SIMs or documents and other motorized vehicle licenses will expire.
On September 30, there is no need to worry.
We have extended the validity of all motorized vehicle documents and permits until November 30, 2021,” Minister of Transportation Delhi, Kailash Gahlot, told toi.
“The order will be issued on Wednesday,” he added.
The expected command will be issued by the Department of Transportation of the Government of Delhi will allow vehicle-related documents, which have ended since February 1, 2020 or will expire on September 30, 2021, to be treated valid until 30 November.
After the official order published, direction will also be issued for the department concerned, including all license authorities and motorcycle licensing officials.
Given the Covid-19 situation, the Delhi government previously extended the validity of the document until September 30.
The decision was taken according to the Ministry’s advisor.
A Delhi government official said that even in the previous instance since the Covid-19 outbreak in March 2020, when the validity of the document related to the vehicle was extended, the command was always issued by the Department of Transportation.
The official said that even if the center did not issue an advisor, the Delhi government could issue orders.
The official, however, confirms that the extension will not apply to pollution under the control certificate and the owner needed to get their vehicle checked, because it does not carry a valid certificate will mean a fine of RS 10,000, SIM suspension for three months and even prison for up to six months .
The Taxi Taxi Tourist Association President, Sanjay Samrat, said the validity needed for extended because related to the transportation business had suffered maximum losses due to a pandemic.
