New Delhi: The Delhi government school will hold a physical parent teacher meeting (PTMS) for all classes from 19 to 31 to discuss the progress of students in the midst of new normal, Deputy Chief of Minister Manish Sisodia announced on Wednesday.
Sisodia, who is also the Minister of Education Delhi, said special PTMS will be made for grade 6 students who have joined the government school this year from city schools.
“Schools have been closed in Delhi since March last year.
They briefly opened for senior classes earlier this year but once again must be closed due to the Covid situation and there is no possibility of reopening schools in the near future now.

“We have decided to call parents to attend physically conducted PTMs from July 19 to 31 where they will be updated about the progress of their students, needs and challenges and how they can learn better in the midst of normal.”

“The meeting will be carried out after all Covid protocols and will be held for two weeks to avoid the crowd on certain days,” he said.
Sisodia said there would be a special focus on grade 6 students whose PTMS will be carried out together by Delhi State School teachers and MCD schools.
Every year, almost 1.7 lakh students from city schools join the run by the Delhi government in grade 6.
“I have emphasized earlier that there is a need to increase collaboration between the Teacher of the City Government and Delhi for a smooth transition of students in grade 6 from MCD schools to those run by the city government,” he said.
“To facilitate this, special PTMS will be carried out for them together by Delhi government teachers and those who come from MCD schools,” he added.
