New Delhi: Health Minister Delhi Satyendar Jain on Tuesday said Delhi had overcome the Delta Coronavirus variant which was detected in more than 80 percent of covid samples sent for genome sequencing during the second wave of pandemic and afterwards.

The first sero survey conducted at the end of June last year found Covid antibodies in 22.6 percent of the sample.
The number increased to 29.1 percent in August and then fell to 25.1 percent in September.
In October, it rose to 25.5 percent.
January’s round of survey found antibodies in 56.13 percent of people who were screened.
Jain said more than 80 percent of samples were sent for genome sequencing during the second wave and after that showed the existence of the Delta variant.
