Delhi HC rejected the punjab party’s petition on poll symbols allocated by EC; impose the cost of Rs 1 lakh to the Applicant

New Delhi: Delhi High Court on Thursday rejected a petition submitted by the Lok Insaaf Party, an unknown country party in Punjab, looking for the dismissal of the command of the election commission allocated for the polling symbol ‘mailbox’, not the first preference, farmers driving Tractor ‘.
The court ruled that the applicant had misled the court by sending an old list of ‘free symbols’ instead of an updated and valid list that did not have a ‘tractor riding farmers’ among the ‘free symbols’ available High Courts also imposed exemplary.

Prateek Judge observed that the applicant had hid the material facts and tried to mislead the court by not revealing the whole and a real copy of ECI notification on September 23.
The selection of assemblies in Punjab and four other countries is due early next year.
Lok Insaaf Party argues before HC has asked the EC for a different symbol, i.e.
“Tractor Chalata Kisan ‘as the first preference and this symbol should be allocated to it.
ECI has invited applications to order general symbols based on paragraph 10b of the selection symbol (reservation and allotment) of orders, 1968 in connection with the election of upcoming assembly and as far as involving Punjab, And the application was submitted on or afterwards it was submitted on or after September 27.
The Petitioner submitted a copy of its application on September 27.

Applicants have eliminated Table IV today, and vice versa placed on table notes IV as at 11.03.2021
