New Delhi: City recorded 11,684 new cases and 38 deaths again because of Covid-19 on Tuesday even when the level of participants dropped to 22.47%.
Over the past five days, there has been a consistent decline in new cases, which, many experts say, can suggest that the third wave passed its peak in the capital.
However, the number of tests also decreased significantly during this period.
According to data distributed by the Delhi government on Tuesday, 52,002 Covid tests were carried out in the last 24 hours, where 38,849 was carried out using RT-PCR / cbnaat while the rest was carried out through a fast antigen test kit.
Last week, on two separate occasions, the city did the lakh test a day.
Officials said one reason behind a low test number was that people without symptoms were not encouraged to undergo tests according to the latest guidelines.
Many people avoid being tested if they have mild symptoms because of the management of most symptomatic, said an official.
Doctors suggest that someone need to watch the inpatient level to assess the situation.
At present, government data shows, the city has 78,112 active cases, where 2,730 was hospitalized.
Covid bed residence is 17%.
From patients who were hospitalized, 871 in oxygen support and 139 on ventilator support.
A total of 318 Covid deaths have been recorded in the last 18 days.
On Monday, 24 deaths were reported.
Most of these patients have comorbidity, the hospital said.
The capital has seen 130 deaths in the previous six months – nine in December, seven in November, four in October, five in September and 29 in August.
In July, Covid claims 76 lives in Delhi.
Dr.
Arun Gupta, Delhi’s medical board president, said Covid’s death analysis recently suggested that fewer people dying “from Covid” and more “with Covid”, and the government needs to conduct appropriate death audits and categorize it.
“It also highlights the need that people should not ignore other health problems and relate to doctors for non-covid problems too,” he said.
