New Delhi: Delhi recorded 23 deaths because Covid-19 on Tuesday, the highest in almost seven months.
In the past three days, the city has recorded 57 deaths due to viral infections.
The hospital said while most people recovered from Covid-19 at home, they still get a large number of patients who need oxygen support and ventilators.
“The severity of the disease can be lower proportionally with the number of cases, but the absolute amount of the patient remains high because the infection has spread at the fast speed this time compared to the first and second waves of the pandemic,” Dr.
Suresh Kumar, Medical Director of the Nayak Lok Hospital, said.
The state-run hospital has 12 Covid-19 patients who need ventilator support.
Throughout Delhi, the data distributed by the Delhi government shows that the number of patients who need ventilator support is 84, while 568 people in oxygen support.
According to government data, there are a total of 74,881 active Covid-19 cases in the city today.
These included 21,259 people who tested the positive virus infection in the last 24 hours, the highest since 1.
