Delhi: Man is held to grab the CRPF Constable phone

New Delhi: A 22-year-old man was arrested for allegedly grabbing a cellphone from the CRPF police here at Shahdara, police said on Monday.
The defendant Abhishek Mann, a resident of Ghaziabad, was previously involved in three such incidents in Anand Vihar and Welcome region.
He came out with a guarantee since October 2020, they said.
According to the police, Mann, who rode a motorcycle, grabbed the cellphone of the central reserve police force (CRPF) Jawan, which was identified as Constable Kiran Kumar, near Shahdara Flyover.
Meanwhile, the Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Balbir watched the incident when he was patrolling.
ASI follows the snatcher in a two-wheeled vehicle, along with Kumar, and chases him 250 meters, follows what he knows Mann, said a senior police officer.
The defendant was arrested and the cellphone taken from CRPF Constable was restored from him along with another cellphone, which he robbed from the Welcome Area just a few minutes before targeting Kumar, he said.
During the interrogation, Mann told the police that he committed a crime to fulfill his alcohol addiction and used his father’s motorcycle for the crime, added the officer.
The police said they were looking for his friend Jatin, who was involved with him in a mobile robbery incident on June 26.
