New Delhi: A 25-year-old man attacked his parents with a knife on Monday, killing his father in place and injuring his mother critically.
The incident was reported from the East Kalyanpuri region of Delhi.
The defendant, Vishal, was arrested from his house.
He has been unemployed for eight – nine months and often have a fight at home for money, police said.
Vishal is also addicted to alcohol and drugs since his studies and needed money to fund his crime, said an official.
The police received a call about the incident of around 6.30 in the morning and rushed to the place.
The couple was taken to the hospital but the man was declared dead on arrival and the woman acknowledged for care.
Their family members told the police that the fight was broken after parents refused to give money to Vishal.
Vishal’s father, Virender (55), working with the Board of Jal Delhi while Manju (52) is a housewife.
According to their relatives, the family has an argument regularly when he demands money from his parents.
“Every time Vishal’s parents will ask him to get a job, he will fight with them.
On Monday too, the family quarreled where Vishal stabbed them,” said a relative.
“The police reached the place and found Virender and Manju lay in a pool of blood.
Manju rushed to the LBS hospital first and then shifted to Safdarjung Hospital,” said a senior officer.
Both experienced some piercing injuries.
Relatives claim that Vishal has planned to eliminate the whole family.
After stabbing his parents, he left and knocked his brother’s room, but his brother and his wife were sleeping and did not open the door.
The police have submitted fir and accused children will be sent to detention after being produced before the judge.
Vishal told the police that he felt humiliated because of his parents who were chored by his parents since he was unemployed.
