Delhi: Man was held with 21.7 kg of firecrackers in Nizamuddin

New Delhi: Towards Diwali, a 33-year-old Noida shopkeeper has been arrested from the Southeast Hazrat Nizamuddin Delhi area for allegedly bringing 21.7 kg of firecrackers in his vehicle despite a ban on sales and their police, police said on Sunday.
The vehicle used to bring firecrackers has also been confiscated from accusing Heera Lal, which manages a shop in his place of origin in Noida, they said.
According to the police, Lal was arrested on Friday why the police team was deployed in Lala Lajpat Rai Marg intercepted his vehicle after a short pursuit and recovering firecrackers weighing around 21.7 kg.
“When he was questioned about firecrackers, he could not give a satisfying response at first.
During the interrogation later, Lal revealed that he had bought firecrackers to sell it in his park for a faster price,” said Esha Pandey, deputy commissioner of the police (southeast).
The case has been registered against Lal below section 286 (negligent behavior in connection with explosives) of the Criminal Code and the relevant parts of the explosives acting at the Hazrat Police Station Nizamuddin, he said.
On September 28, the Delhi pollution control committee (DPCC) had ordered a complete ban on the sale and outbreak of firecrackers in the national capital until January 1 next year.
