Delhi: Metrolite operates with rough weather

New Delhi: Although the decision about the exact part of the proposed metrolytic corridor will be on the surface, a delayed increase or underground, the sound of worries has begun to radiate from the ground.
The 19KM corridor, connects Kirti Nagar to the Dwarka-Cum-Convention (ECC) exhibition center in sector 25, will pass through the crowded commercial area in Kirti Nagar, which has a wholesale market, furniture, plastic and marble which is intercepted by thousands of visitors.
Although Metrolite is also a rail-based system, it has lower carrying capacity than Metro Delhi.
But also costs 40% of the metro system.
Previously last year, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) submitted a detailed project report for the proposed two-metrolite corridors to Narella (21.7 km) and Kirti Nagar to Dwarka ECC – to the Delhi government for approval.
DMRC does not comment on project status and exactly how many corridors will be in class and how many are elevated or underground.
The Kirti Nagar region traders, however, worried that if the corridor was built on the existing road, it would affect their business.
Rohit Raj Verma, President of the Plastic Traders Association in Kirti Nagar, said that even though the details were vague at this time, the system seemed to be like a tram in a special corridor in the middle of the road with traffic on both sides.
He said this would result in a closed and crossed intersection would not be possible, even though there was an industrial area on the one hand and commercial activities on both sides.
“This area has three main commercial activities – furniture, marble and plastic – built in a long time, and this kind of project will affect them,” Claim Verma.
“Because the land is limited, they have to get land on both sides of the road,” he said.
“Also, the project will take at least two to three years, which means the road will not be accessible and there is no business that can survive.” There is also a lot of confusion about whether the corridor will be elevated or on the surface, Inderdit Singh said, who has run a wholesale business of furniture in the area for the past 30 years.
“If made on the surface of the road, the three wholesale businesses will be destroyed,” said Singh who was worried.
“With a fenced corridor, the road will be completely destroyed because it will become jammed and load and dismantle the goods will not be possible,” he said.
Gagan Gandhi, an advocate representing the interests of the main road market association, said the introduction of Metrolitit in Kirti Nagar would definitely affect stakeholder interests because their business would be hampered by significant loss of income.
“This situation will apply because most customers will avoid visiting a crowded and solid market for a long period of time,” he added.
In a letter to DMRC, Gandhi has prayed on the name of the association that alternative routes are considered to prevent the loss of business, work and income to the state without benefit for passengers on the route.
