New Delhi: BJP MP Manoj Tiwari on Saturday started “Chhath Yatra” from northeast Delhi as part of his plan to mobilize the community to put pressure on the Government of Delhi to enable the celebration of Puja Chhath in public places.
Delhi Disaster Management Authority has for the second year in a row forbidden the celebration of Puja Chhath in public places because they are worried that they can cause the spread of Coronavirus.
In a public meeting at Sonia Vihar in Northeast Delhi who was dominated by people from Bihar and up the east for whom Chhath was a big festival, Tiwari asked people who wanted to celebrate festivals in public places and most of them raised their hands.
“People are ready to strictly follow all Covid-19 guidelines and celebrate festivals in public places.

The government must revoke the ban and respect the feelings of the people,” Tiwari said, vowed to Make arrangements for people to celebrate a festival in the river bank.
Tiwari said some Puja Chhath organized the committee had reached out to him and expressed their desire to celebrate a festival in public places.
This festival is connected with sentiment from hundreds of thousands of people who celebrate.
“When all economic and other activities have been permitted in Delhi, why the government prohibits Puja Chhath.
I will not only oppose this Decree of the Government of Delhi but will also make all arrangements for people to celebrate festivals in public places while following all covid protocols 19, “Sad Tiwari who is also the former Delhi BJP head.
Chhath Puja almost a month ago and Tiwari had planned to take his “Chhath Yatra” to all capital districts to gather support from people to get a revoked ban.
