New Delhi: Getting a permanent SIM means the waiting period starts from a week to three months for driving test slots, depending on where you live in Delhi, but no longer.
Delhiits can now take a driving test on any automated test track in the national capital where they can find the earliest slot.
To curb the spread of Covid-19, the Delhi government transportation department has reduced the number of slots offered on the automatic driving test track of almost half to ensure social distance.
However, this produces a long waiting period appears for driving tests in most busy zones.
If someone fails a tight test on the automatic track, it means a longer waiting period.
For example, one can get a slot on the date in a week on the Sarai Kale Khan test lane or next to Surajmal Vihar RTO, while waiting for a longer for slots in the Mall Road, Rajouri Garden or RTOS Vihar and Stretch up to about three months in Loni ROAD RTO.
The difference in the waiting period is due to an uneven population distribution under each zone.
“Now, we have let applicants choose to take the test on the automatic test tracks they want.
They have to go to the website, parivahan.gov.in, and then choose the slot on the test track wherever they want, regardless of the zone which address Their housing is below, “said Delhi government officials.
The new system already exists and has been stable, officials said.
“This will help in distributing the number of applicants more evenly on various automatic test tracks,” he said.
Apart from this new size, the Delhi government also plans to conduct a driving test at night to shorten the waiting time further.
At present, the driving test starts at 8 am on the test track and continue until around 2pm.
The first department will install a high pole lamp so that the track can operate at night.
“Apart from the sensor on the ground, the camera on a high pole also captures driving tests.
Both are needed for computerized analysis,” he said.
