New Delhi: After successfully developing mini forests in dense urban areas in 17 places, including Karol Bagh and Keshavpuram, North Delhi Municipal (NDMC) Corporation have proposed to develop 33 sites again, spread more than 62 hectares in phase II.
The concept of urban forests has been introduced to increase green cover.
In these forests, puppies of various varieties of tree planted are almost one another and the path is provided for visitors.
There is no artificial grass or an added ornament feature.
The idea is to give a wild look, attract different species and develop natural flora and fauna, said Director of Horticulture Ashish Priyadarshi.
“The best part about the phase II project is that we have identified four places in City-SP and nine spots in the civilian line zone.
These zones have solid colonies and there is a desperate fresh air need.
Even if this is a small spot.
Land, we will make the best effort to do solid plantations here.
Most of the parks identified are barren or unattended by the locals, “the official said.
“These areas will have the right boundaries and gates and no benches will be installed to block pedestrians from sitting unnecessarily,” the official said.
