Delhi: Operation without a driver on the pink line is set to start with December

New Delhi: The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is likely to start the train operation “without a driver” on the Longest Pink-Pink-Vihar Majlis) -By later this year.
With the addition of a pink line, the DMRC driverless network, which currently covers 37-km long magenta line (Botanical Garden-Janakpuri West), will be part of the longest automated Metro network in the world.
According to sources, DMRC has completed the work of signaling and Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMR) will check the corridor for this week’s unattended train operation (UK).
The driver without driver in UTO mode will be possible after safety moves from CMR and is expected to begin by the end of this year.
DMRC took a big technology leap on December 28 last year when Prime Minister Narendra MODI marked the first driverless train service fully automated on the Magenta lane.
It is hoped that the driver without driver will also begin in a 58.4 km-long pink line in a few months.
However, unlike the Magenta path, the pink line is operated as two different parts until recently because of the ‘missing link’ in the Trilokpuri where DMRC cannot build a bridge.
The missing link in August this year and the traces without interruption throughout the corridor could finally begin.
DMRC has integrated this section with the remaining sophisticated corridor signal system, which allows automatic driver operation.
When drivers’ train operations begin in the pink line, the total DMRC network without drivers will stand in almost 96 km, which will be 9% of the total metro network without drivers in the world, according to DMRC.
Network without further drivers will cross the 100 km sign when the corridor extension of the Maujpur-Majlis along 12.5 km, which is being built as part of the Delhi Metro Phase IV project, completed in 2023.
Thanks to the KM -Knologi-based communication-based technology (CBTC) , Train operations without drivers are possible on the magenta and pink lane.
Compared to the technology used in the metro corridor longer, CBTC allows more efficient and safe train operations.
Driverless operation has been possible because of changes in the existing general rules to run the train which takes into account the existence of any emergency handling driver and guidelines that involve the existence of the driver.
The rules of the Metro 2020 train general, however, take into account the driver without the driver.
