New Delhi: The first day of Covid Vaccination for pregnant women on Saturday drawing a mixed response.
The city hospital said they received many questions from expecting mothers about injection, but voters remained low.
The source of Apollo Indraprastha Hospital said only one pregnant woman appeared to take Jab.
At Manipal Hospital and Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, no vaccine managed for pregnant women on Saturday.
“We have begun to advise pregnant women to be vaccinated because the benefits are greater than the risk.
We hope some mothers who expect will come soon to vaccinate,” said Dr.
Ruma Satwik, Consultant, Obstetrics & Gynecological Department in Ganges Ram.
Pregnancy has been considered an independent risk factor for the development of Covid, adverse results and death, Dr.
Satwik added.
The Institute of Obstetrics and Gynecology in SGRH has issued a statement that said the maternal mortality rate during the Covid pandemic is around 23 times more than usual.
“Also, according to our data, the mortality rate in pregnant women is 2.5 times higher than in women who are not suitable and not pregnant with Covid,” said the hospital.
Covid vaccines have been given to pregnant women in the US and Europe without a serious bad incident report.
On May 28, the National Technical Advisory Group on immunization also said that the benefits of covid vaccination in pregnant women beyond risk.
However, adding that all beneficiaries must be fully informed that the reaction of the long-term adverse and safety of vaccines for the fetus has not been established.
The new guideline, which was released on Friday, clearly stated that all pregnant women must take a vaccine.
