New Delhi: A PhD student at the University of Jawaharlal Nehru (JNU) allegedly persecuted while walking on campus around midnight on Monday, triggered protest by students and brought the spotlight again in the vast complex.
The police said that a case had been registered and several teams worked to arrest the defendant.
They said the PCR call on a female student who was persecuted in the JNU was received at the North Vasant Kunj police station at around 12:45 a.m.
on Tuesday.

on Monday, a PhD student was walking on campus.
When he walked near the University of the East Gate, a man came with a bicycle from the campus and tried to persecute” Sharma said.
The girl raised the alarm and the defendant escaped.
“Considering the gravity and sensitivity of the incident, the SWD police team led by DCP Gaurav Sharma immediately and realized immediately,” Delhi police then tweeted.
“FIR NO 42/22 U / S 354A / 354B / 323/341 / 379 IPC in PS Vasant Northern Kunj has been registered and investigations are ongoing.
