New Delhi: Delhi Police have identified more than 890 criminals involved in various crimes and is suitable for existence.
The existence process is intended to keep criminals from an area for a certain period to ensure peace in the community.
Until August 19 this year, the maximum number of criminals, 215, was identified by outside districts, followed by outside northern (124) and Dwarka (95).
They were found fit for the external process below Section 47 of the Delhi Police Act (the elimination of people who will commit violations), police said.
On the rest, 12 districts, more than 500 criminals were identified.
The Delhi police will initially present notice to the criminals to explain why they are not externalized.
If they cannot provide a satisfying reply, further action will be taken, an officer said.
So far, 740 notifications have been issued.
“More than 170 notifications have been issued by the outside districts, 90 by Dwarka and 71 by the southern district,” Delhi police data accessed by TOI shows.
In the district outside, according to a senior officer, they have specific criteria for existence.
“We analyzed the perceptions of threats.
We check whether ordinary people live in a fearful area, and whether criminals run the right network of organized crime syndicates that need to be arrested.
We ensure that no one lives in fear,” the officer said.
Other officers from the North Northern District said that criminals involved in body and excise violations, robbers and snatchers were usually external.
“If they are involved in more than three criminal cases and do not want to change themselves, they are externally from the city for at least six months.” Until August 19, there were 134 people externally from the city.
Exterenting plays an important role in maintaining peace and harmony in the community.
“After an exteration, it becomes difficult for criminals to restart the criminal activity in another state.
In a new place, he must make a new link, which is not easy,” a police officer explained.
According to data, as many as 1.75,327 cases were registered in Delhi until August 15, including 3,246 Heinous and 1,72,081 non-vile cases.
More than 5,100 jombing, 719 pain and 1,264 robbery cases were reported.
