Delhi Police dismiss the steel ring between states

New Delhi: Delhi Police have broken the interstate of illegal firearms and captured the two key members from ISBT in Anand Vihar here where they came to provide consignment, officials said on Thursday.
Shivam Sharma (24) and Krishhan Kumar (22), the two residents of Altarh Uttar Pradesh were arrested by Delhi police special cells with 15 pistols and 40 live cartridges, they said.
The defendant revealed that they had bought firearms from Madhya Pradesh-based suppliers and were scheduled to supply them to gangsters and criminals, police said, adding they had supplied more than 600 firearms in Delhi NCR and the Countries side by side in the past four years.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) Pramod Singh Kushwah said specific information was accepted that Shivam and Krishhan had collected firearm’s consignment from weapons suppliers at Madhya Pradesh and will arrive at ISBT Anand Vihar, on September 14 to hand over weapons to someone’s contact.
“A trap is placed and both are arrested along with 15 illegal pistols and 40 live cartridges,” he said.
They have been ordered under the strict provisions of ACT (Amandment) Act 2019, having a minimum 10-year sentence that can be extended to prison sentences, police said.
When interrogated, both revealed that they bought firearms and ammunition from the manufacturer of weapons-cum-supplier in Madhya Pradesh, he added.
“Both regularly buy firearms from weapons manufacturers in Madhya Pradesh and then supply it to gangsters, hardened criminals and small arm vendors in Delhi-NCR and countries next to Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan for the past four years,” said KUSHWAH), “said Kushwah).
They bought a semi-automatic gun for Rs 7,000 and one gun shot for RS 1,000 from Madhya Pradesh.
They sold a further semi-automatic gun for RS 25,000 and a single shot gun for Rs 4,000 to the criminals on Delhi-nCR, “he said.
